How to Strengthen Your Belief System
Motivation is a powerful process for your dreaming future. Ever heard of the expression ‘be careful what you wish for’ or ‘if you believe it you can achieve it’? Your actions are the physical manifestations of what is your subconscious. It’s why you might not be able to stop eating chips or candy once you opened the bag. Or why you repeat the same mistakes over and over again? Or lack discipline to manage your health and fitness routine.
Your belief system is an internal system which is coded and individual to you. It is driven by your desire and controlled by your thoughts and actions. In other words, your success or what you do or don’t do is measured by the strength of your belief.
What you believe is what you will achieve rings true because what you believe is what you will experience. What is it that you most want? If you don’t know and don’t focus and obsess over that thing, your actions reflect exactly that. You do not have a routine or do things in an orderly way. Everyday your priorities change with the day. And you go back and forth trying to stay motivated and focused.
The reality is the majority of people do not have a clue what it is they want. They more often complain about what they do not want. So as you begin your digital nomad journey, now is a good time to evaluate and get crystal clear on your goals. Start with the end in mind and determine the end result you want to achieve. Put your goals in writing and place them where you can see them throughout the day. Read them frequently throughout the day to keep them fresh on your mind and in your conscious. You will notice once you do this, it will be easier to see connectivity where you once didn’t. Everywhere you go in public or online, ideas will come easily to market and grow your business. People you meet in random situations will have some kind of connection to your business or interest. And you will wake up self-motivated and with a clear vision of what to do next even if it is not written. If the vision you wrote does not motivate or inspire you after a few weeks, then you likely are not in alignment and should consider something else or dig deeper into your original thought to identify what it is you really love about that thing you wrote down.
Here’s Your Growth Goals:
1. Be more curious.
Explore and learn as much as you can on how you can achieve your goal. Listen to people and podcasts; watch videos; read books and articles. Follow and talk to as many people as possible who are already successful in what you want to achieve. Ask, ask and ask some more about what they did to reach success. Do not limit your contacts to only the people you already know. Follow their work and be responsive and show genuine interest in their work.
2. Be YOUnique.
Take the ideas you learn, put your personal touch on them and develop your own creative process. Think of how you can approach your goal in a way that no one else has. Be a confident risk-taker, as this is going to be a critical factor in your business (standing out from everyone else).
3. Push to be your best version of you.
Be your best version of you. With a great deal of practice, pain and sacrifices you have become everything you are not. Regardless of what you were trying to do, from your very first attempts, you believed in your mind you would eventually learn to do whatever that thing is you desired to do and you eventually accomplished it.
4. Be thankful and positive.
It’s so easy yet so hard. If you see perceived obstacles or road blocks in front of, then you will also only see problems. If you have hesitations that your plan will not work, then it won’t. If you are influenced by the power of negative people, then you will never be any better than they are. Always FULLY believe in yourself and what you are capable of achieving even when NOBODY else does. Sadly, some of our worst critics are the people closest to us. But they are sometimes critical because they are also protective and don’t want to see you fail or hurt. You need to have a strong belief system that you will wake up motivated and focused without worry or doubt. How many times have you heard stories of entrepreneurs whose parents were disappointed in their choices and they stayed true to their dream and vision? With smart work and determination they went on to achieve reasonable wealth and greatly improved the life of their family. Be disciplined, stay positive and stay focused no matter who or what tries to wear you down or make you angry.
5. Be Your Own Motivation.
Are you happy where you are in your life today? If so, you probably would not be reading this article right now. Your frustration or disappointment with your life should be motivation enough to push forward. When your desire to succeed is stronger than the pain, fear or frustration of failing, there is no turning back. The only thing holding you back from here and where you want to be is YOU! I know this expression sounds cliche, but the reality is, you are being held back because of old thoughts and old programming! You are not pushing forward with your dreams, visions or goals because of your fear of failure; something from your past that makes you question this; or your lack of experience and fear of the unknown. Get clear on your vision, reprogram your thinking, improve your habits and get to work!
I challenge you to view your goals just like you did when you were a child before you learned about self doubt and negative criticism. Remember, anything is possible as long as you believe in it strongly enough. Make a commitment that you will not let anything or anyone, including yourself stand in your way of reaching your goals.
Now get out there and serve some people!
